Data for Good is a volunteering project that aims to leverage data analytics to scale impact in the social sector. Through this project, UCL Analytics for Social Impact Society aims to empower non-profit organisations with data-driven solutions tailored to their needs and requirements.

Our value proposition:

For non-profit organisations with viable datasets, our project aims to extract actionable intelligence from existing data. By applying descriptive and predictive analytics techniques, volunteers will be able to gather insights on a specific topic of interest to improve the organisation’s decision-making processes. Project examples include: predicting criminal recidivism using neural networks; visualising the risk of forest fires on Tableau; or conducting social impact measurement using statistical analysis.

For non-profit organisations without viable datasets, our project aims to propose data strategies and best practices that will strengthen the organisation’s ability to collect, store and utilize data.
