Rish Sali

Hi everyone, my name is Rish and I'm running for Vice president. I am standing for this position because I am passionate about the mission and values of the society and believe that I have the skills and experience needed to help make next year even more successful than the current.

As a current First year representative I've had the opportunity to help organise events and talks for the society providing me with experience as to how the society functions. Although we've had an amazing year so far, with great turnouts at all our events, we can definitely do more, including:

-Increasing the number of networking events and opportunities, such as job fairs, workshops, and conferences
-Creating more collaborative research opportunities between students and faculty
-Providing more resources and support for students interested in pursuing biochemistry and engineering research
-Creating more opportunities for students to explore different facets of the field, such as policy, business, and entrepreneurship
-Developing a mentor program to pair more experienced students with newer members of the society
-Establishing a stronger presence on social media to reach a wider audience
-Offering more opportunities for students to collaborate with industry professionals and gain real-world experience.
