Election post
Are you ready to build your future career with the help of the UCL Consulting Society? As a candidate for VP of Mentorship, I am eager to help members connect with industry experts and explore the countless opportunities in consulting.
My PhD journey has taught me the incredible value of having a mentor. As a UCLCS member, I've had the chance to meet consultants at different career stages and have great conversations, which helped me gain insights into consulting and hone my communication skills. With my experience in managing multiple responsibilities, such as my thesis project, a consulting client project, and delivering teaching support to over 300 students, I am confident in my organisational abilities to devise a successful mentoring program for you, the members of UCLCS.
As the VP of Mentorship, I will prioritise the following actions whilst keeping my options open for feedback:
1. Developing an understanding of the needs of UCLCS members in terms of mentorship and events focused on consulting insights.
2. Reach out to UCL alumni and higher-year students to participate in the mentorship programme and promote the programme to a diverse range of students.
3. Work alongside the External Relation Division to find inspiring speakers for our events that can provide an accurate and informative perspective of consulting.
4. Provide UCLCS members with tools to approach their mentors and get the most out of their informational interviews for future applications.
