My welfare sec speech key points :)
- I want to reintroduce the buddy system for the future freshers to settle in and potentially even expand this to a more pre-clin/clin pairing to get the second years included too. I think this would be a massive help to have a guide through the first years of med school and an experienced face to talk to throughout the year if ever in any doubt.
- I obviously want to carry on Charlottes Selfcare Saturday Instagram posts and work with the new publicity sec to provide advice and ideas on how to look after your wellbeing and switch off after a busy week!
- I’d like to work with the new social secs to arrange some more sober socials and other events to look after our mental and physical health (especially our livers) every once in a while. Some of these events could potentially include going to puppy yoga classes, running some zoom yoga for people who fancy taking some mindful minutes or club picnics/walks at the weekend!
- I’d like to help continue to make RUMS hockey an inclusive and accessible environment for all, working on and expanding inclusivity events like the 'this girl can' taster sessions a few weeks ago!
So I'd love to be your welfare sec, and have the opportunity to give back to the club and you guys too!!
