I'm Zain and I would like to be your president.

For me UCL men’s hockey is one of the best clubs UCL has to offer so I'll list the few improvements I'd make. One improvement is cross team cohesion. On Wednesdays as each team has their own schedule it is hard for members between teams to integrate. There are ways to tackle this, with potentially more fresher socials or hockey families socials.

However, I think one of the ideas that could work well is to get more members across all teams involved in mixed hockey, which I believe provides a non-competitive friendly environment for freshers and seniors across all teams to mix. Therefore I think getting more people involved in mixed hockey and prioritising people who haven't played mixed before could be crucial to helping cross team cohesion.

Also I attended the "Women in sport” talk and I learn a lot more about the issues surrounding this. Female presidents discussed various issues that are handled by men’s clubs for instance girls night in, joint socials and the culture within the men’s clubs made me realise there’s work still to be done. That’s why I will look to meet with other presidents throughout TeamUCL so that I can become more aware of how to portray the club in the best light and relay that onto our committee and members.

Other ideas include: more variations of club day, an anonymous reporting system, and more movement between teams. Thank you for listening.
