Arjun Parmar

Hi, my name is Arjun Parmar and I am running for Vice President of Hindu society this year.I was on committee last year as a first-year representative and this enabled me to meet so many new people who, if I had not undertaken this role, I may never have met.I was fortunate enough to make so many friends through all our various events and even more amazing memories such as acting in Rangeela.Being an FYR, as well as President of Hindu society in my school, has truly demonstrated how much effort committee members put in behind the scenes, equipping me with valuable knowledge to be a Vice President.

Following the success of the previous year’s events, I would love to bring all of these back plus provide you, as a society, with even more- making this year the biggest and best year of Hindu soc. Being one of the few Hindu society members who has had experience in a religious and cultural society before, as well as previously hosting events such as proms, I feel that I have the skill set required to take on a role of leadership for such a prestigious committee.

Alongside my current role as an FYR, I am involved in a diverse range of activities at UCL and represent the first team for tennis, making me a competitive leader who is driven and aims to continually improve.I believe I can responsibly be your next Vice President and provide you with an extremely friendly, supportive and exciting community who you can call your family.Thank you for this opportunity.

Rahul Suren

Hey! I’m Rahul, and I would love to be your Vice-President next year. For those of you that haven’t met me yet, let me introduce myself…

I joined HSOC as an FYR and thoroughly enjoyed being a part of such well organised events such as Diwali Ball and Rangeela. Due to this experience as an FYR, I gained a direct insight into how these nights were planned and what made them so successful. I’m confident that I can continue to deliver high quality sell-out events for everyone to enjoy. My priority is to provide unforgettable experiences for all our members and give you the opportunities to create friendships that will last a lifetime.

I pride myself in my adaptability which allows me to be a ‘jack of all trades’. I would love to help and support the rest of the committee as much as possible. As a devout Hindu myself, I understand the importance of our beautiful culture and will work closely with the Religious Officer to ensure celebrations like Garba are as memorable as our club nights.

I’m looking forward to seeing HSOC evolve and maintain our well-earned title of the best community at UCL. I hope I’ve gained your vote and can’t wait to meet you all next year!
