Hiking Club: Treasurer

Hello fellow hiker,

I joined the hiking society last year and have absolutely loved my experience so far. Exploring the UK countryside, meeting new people, and the feel-good factor at the end of a 20k hike are just few things I enjoy most about this society. I am very open and friendly and can pick up a conversation with you on literally anything. My friends describe hiking with me as a vibe you'd be sure to enjoy. So, if you want to vibe on your next hike, vote for me. 

I am resilient, collaborative, and have excellent communication skills- all of which are qualities of a good leader. Moreover, I love keeping fit, getting out of the city, and navigating trekking paths. My previous leadership experiences in academic societies and internships further increase my credibility as a candidate. 

A few of my goals, if elected, include building deeper outreach of the society and hiking (in general), arranging more hikes and other related activities (such as bouldering, and overnight stays) for all levels, and of course, organizing the most fun socials. So if you are an experienced hiker, or a total beginner, or want to explore more activities, or just have a pint with us, I have you covered.

1. I have several experiences of climbing and hiking in the highlands. I have reached the summit of a 5,000-metre Chinese mountain. I climbed 30km with height rise of 1,830m.

2. I also have experience in planning climbs and hikes. I having organized five hikes in the last year.  I organized a small group to hike 14km. Responsible for planning each trip, calculating the budget, planning route, making packing lists, booking hotels and vehicles and even acting as a driver. 

3. I can do  photographer job as well.  I take a lot of great photos every trip, landscape photos, portraits and group photos. I take photos of star and sunrise, when I have camping  and overnight hiking.

4. I hope I can help share the responsibility of the club and develop our club.

Hello! I am Xin Li, a second-year Arts and Sciences student and currently the Vice President of the club. I believe many of you have met me in all kinds of club activities, such as the residentials, social events and weekly hikes.

I am running for Treasurer because I have had a good time in the committee and with all of you in the club, and I would love to continue to help run the club and involve myself in more events!
 

As the Treasurer, I will:

1. Manage the finances of residentials, social events and hikes etc.

2. Continue to develop our merchandise shop and make the products (T-shirts, leggings and more!) more accessible to the members

3. Maintain and develop current sponsorships

4. Assist the rest of the committee in general
