Andrei-Catalin Popa
Hi, everyone! I’m Andrei-Cătălin Popa, and I am running for president.
Your question might be: why is he running for this? what is his background? why should we vote for this guy?
Well, I have been playing handball for almost 10 years, I have been part of the UCL Handball Club since I was a fresher, and I think that I have gained enough knowledge by now to know how to properly run this club in order to make it a greater and better one.
My past experince makes me suitable for this position as I have already been involved in SU Clubs and Socities in various forms, being elected in different leading positions such as Captain, Vice-Captain, Treasurer, or President.
Some ideas or things I would like to implement during my presidency are:
- have training twice a week: the weekly Somers Town Sports Center training and the partnership with Islington are a must.
- more handball playing time such as official games, friendlies matches or tournaments.
- more social events to better integrate all the members such as Mulley's Karaoke.
- reaching more people to join the club.
- proper courts for training.
- get more funds for the club through grants, sponsorships and other ways.

Handball has always been a constant in my life.
It’s where I go to unwind and relieve the stress of life.
Handball it's not just about the game, it's about getting through the good and also the difficult times as a team, it's being a part of a family. It has given me some of my closest friends.
As the president of the handball club, I'll do my best so all the players feel as I do about handball.
I'll make sure everyone feels welcomed and integrated into the club.
I'm organized, responsible and I can motivate other people.
