Election post
As someone who was basically raised on Rookie (iykyk), I know that blog content - whether it be photography, essays, poems, or articles - can be transformative. I really think the blog could open our audience's eyes to important issues, interesting art, and new perspectives surrounding gender and feminism. In order to do this, I would work with the social media manager to ensure that all society members feel able to share on the blog, while also being aware of all new submissions. I would also aim to collaborate with other arts societies and student media outlets so as to maximise blog content, and to widen both our group of writers and our readership.
As an intersectional feminist who loves writing, I would love monitoring and editing submissions, as well as writing posts. In particular, I would be excited to cover the society's events, but also to write about media from a feminist lens. Additionally, as Sexpression UCL's 2021/22 social media officer, I have experience monitoring online content that I could apply to the blog.
In any case, I'm really excited to see what the coming year brings for GenFem!
