Dutch and Flemish Society: President

Van harte welkom!

My name is Fleur and it would be an honor to be president of the Dutch and Flemish society as I was born and raised in Holland (Utrecht). As I am extremely proud of my heritage, I would love to share our wonderful culture with all students at UCL from a variety of different backgrounds. For me, this means organizing social events around our national holidays, such as Koningsdag or Sint Maarten. With Belgium being our neighbor country, I have a lot of respect for the Flemish community and would love to incorporate more Flemish events and national holidays within the societal events next year. On top of that, besides our regular ‘ABN’ language classes, I would like to introduce students to some distinct languages in Holland such as Fries (Frisian). This is just the tip of the iceberg, as I'm planning way more!
