Election post
I was a first year representative in the external relations division and have helped out on case workshops held by our executives and helped organised our society's networking social event. Through active participation, I understood how this division works and what can be improved on.
My plans as VP of External Relations & Events:
1) Aim for more in person events (1 or 2 per month). Events of interest: case studies from consultants, application workshops from different companies (for spring weeks/summer internships/grad roles), alumni career talks(how they got into consulting and what they do now). These are highly desired events as reflected from the feedback of our members.
2) Hold an annual flagship event or forum(during easter or summer) with a specific theme for example, “ESG in consulting/tech”. It would be a 1 day event with multiple interactive panel discussions, a consulting case study by MBB or Big 4 companies where competition will be judged by the company and winners get free mentorship from consultants.
3) Work with head of sponsorship during summer to secure sponsors both for general sponsorship and sponsorship for large scale events (flagship event/case competitions).
4) Aim to increase collaboration and engagement within the division and with other divisions.
