Election post
I have been an active member of UCL Connect.ed throughout my time at UCL, serving as a Blog Communications Editor in my first year and the General Secretary in my second year. My appreciation for the society’s activities and members has never diminished, and thus, it would be a pleasure to continue contributing to the society in my third year, this time as the Treasurer.
I displayed good financial skills while working as the Treasurer for UCL Vietnamese Society, in which I budgeted for and successfully organised various profit-yielding intercollegiate events hosted both on and off-campus. In previous roles, I also planned a high-cost event involving booking high-demand musical artists and a premier venue, coordinated pro-environmental fundraising initiatives, and composed documents such as sponsorship proposals for a MUN conference.
Being in these positions gave me valuable insights into how to manage a society successfully. Meeting the tight deadlines for these organisations while balancing academic commitments, I demonstrated flexibility and good organisation skills. As a Public Relations officer, I developed excellent communication skills through running marketing campaigns, contacting other organisations to request media support and speaking to potential guest speakers to invite them to events.
I believe that with these skills and experiences, I will be able to carry out the responsibilities of Treasurer effectively.
