Hi I’m Talal!

I am running for President of UCL Biopharma Society to deliver the highest calibre of opportunities to students who share an interest for the Biopharma field.

As the Sponsorship Director over the past year, I worked on key aspects of outreach such as devising the society’s entire sponsorship proposal and constructing a library of contacts within the Biopharma industry. With full authority, I will be able to implement my ambitious partnership plans for our society.

My vision is to build the reputation a leading Life Sciences society at a world leading institution. I will therefore focus on:

• Improving engagement between students and various industries (pharmaceuticals, biotech, consulting, public policy, etc).
• Collaborating with other STEM societies to foster bigger prospects.
• Providing a welcoming environment for students to socialise and network at regular social events like Games nights and Dinners.

To achieve this, I would like to place an active focus on building relationships with the Biopharma Industry through sponsorships, alumni, and researchers. These will be the basis of our core plans for the year which include the Annual Careers Fair, Alumni Mentorship programme, and Industry Insight talks.

I’m committed to aiding career development and improving university experience for all our members. I hope you can give me the opportunity to serve you as next year’s President.

I had a great pleasure of serving members of School of Pharmacy society this year as the president. With the skills and experience I have gained along the way this year, I promise you following:

2. Social events not only limited to ice breakers with the freshers but also:
   • Foodie trip and pub night.
   • Seasonal gathering
   • Casual debate session on the multi-disciplinary topic (nothing competitive; closer to discussion)
3. Academically inspiring seminars
   • To fulfil your intellectual need, guest speakers will be invited to deliver us an insightful talk about the diverse discipline in the field of pharmaceutical R&D.
   • Upon request from members, topics other than R&D can be arranged.
