Hi I'm Jen, a first-year Geography with Social Data Science student and I'd love to be your next Community Outreach Officer! While I’m not the most talented ulti player you’ll ever meet, I can assure you that I’m committed to doing my best for the club ?

I’ve long been plugged into the volunteering scene – in Singapore, I volunteered weekly as a casewriter for members of parliament, served as a long-term community befriender and tutored underprivileged residents thrice a week pro bono. I have also helmed more structured community service programmes like my college’s Environmental Literacy Programme and alumni-run mentorship project, which gave me valuable experience on how to formalise avenues to give back to the community. I’m a strong believer in service to others, and continue to involve myself with seniors in the North London community.

I understand that this role entails coordinating with various volunteering groups to organise service projects for the club. Thus, in this year I seek to:

  1. Connect the club more deeply with the surrounding community, e.g. by building stronger relations with the Somers Town community;
  2. Allow members to vote on the causes we support as a club (because, you know… democracy); and
  3. Support the rest of the committee in club administration and member welfare — being a team player is important on and off the pitch!
