Helena Zhao

Hi, I’m Helena and I am a third-year Geography student. As an experienced hospitality worker and passionate foodie, I believe I have the skills needed to fulfil the role and enhance everyone's experience :). 

My Experience:

• Waitressing: Throughout my year at Bang Bang Vietnamese Canteen, I took over 300 orders and broadened my knowledge in Vietnamese cuisine alongside my studies. This honed my communication skills but also allowed me to connect with diverse individuals.
• Hospitality network: My waitressing experience broadened my network of restaurant contacts. For example, a restaurant owner's family member generously offered me to eat for free at their restaurant. This means I can bring UCL Food Society to new places at reduced pricing and help you in trying more cuisines!
• International cuisine expertise:  My passion for food inspired me to spend my year in Hong Kong, where I enjoyed dishes like claypot rice. I also have visited 10+ London bubble tea spots (The Alley is top-tier). Therefore I will ensure our events showcase diverse cuisines.
• Campus Ambassador: I attracted 120 followers to the UCL Legal Cheek Instagram and promoted events to a diverse audience. This illustrates my effective communication which will help you enjoy events even more.
