Election post
First and foremost I am running because I’ve been a MUNer for eight years and MUN has been responsible for some of my favorite memories. I’ve met close friends through MUN activities or conferences and genuinely believe MUN has helped me grow as a person. As Events Officer, I want to ensure that all UCLUNA members share those experiences. More specifically, I want to focus on organizing more speaker events and our own conference, in order to allow society members to benefit from various MUN-related experiences.
In the past, I’ve helped to organize three high school MUN conferences (serving on the Secretariat) and I would love to organize a UCL conference. UCLMUN existed a few years ago and I am running on the platform that it's time to revive it! I also want to expand the number of speaker events that the UCLUNA offers. I’ve organized keynote speakers for MUN conferences in the past (including Human Rights activists, diplomats, security experts) and would apply those experiences when organizing engaging and fascinating speaker events for the UCLUNA.
Finally, as mentioned, I met some of my closest friends at MUN-related activities, which is why I also pledge to organize exciting socials for the committee. I’ve always loved to see people tear each other apart in debate and then turn into best friends once the committee goes on break, and I believe socials are the best way to encourage that dynamic and make sure we all get along (no matter how heated the debate gets).
