Samantha Khoo

Hey everyone! I'm currently in my third year studying Biological Sciences. I recently got into frisbee and have been really enjoying the sport and even more so the tight sense of community of the club. I would love to be more involved and give back to the society, and organising volunteering opportunities for the club is one of the ways that I can achieve that. 

Through experiences in various places from Malaysia to London including soup kitchens, night shelters and foster homes, I have discovered that volunteering is a channel for building stronger connections within our community. With events such as charity tournaments and trips to animal shelters (maybe play some frisbee with the dogs), I believe that we can create a positive impact (no matter how small!) on ongoing social issues. 

Recognising that volunteering may not always be the most exhilarating prospect, I would like to organise activities that are both fun and stress-relieving. I look forward to creating a sense of unity among members, using our enthusiasm for frisbee to contribute and make a positive contribution to society :)
