From tube trivia socials and tours of abandoned stations, to scavenger hunts around the network and visiting heritage railways – the opportunities to interact with TfL’s transport cobweb are a Temple waiting to be explored, and more endless than the stairs at Covent Garden!

You might not have seen me around campus too much, and that’s because I’m Oval-ly excited to be on my placement this year with Siemens Mobility – the guys who, among other things, made the Thameslink trains and are currently making the new tube trains for the Piccadilly Line (trust me, they’ll bring a new vibe to the deep tube when they’re rolled out 😉). This puts me in a position where not only am I building a network of contacts in the rail industry, who could come and talk to us about their work, but Morden that, I’m getting to hear first-hand about transport treats that might be a bit of fun to get involved in!

Of course, although I’ve got a whole Bank of event ideas to bring to TfL Society, I’d always be open to suggestions from everyone, to make sure that you all have a Monument-ally fun time!

Some of us might only be in London for a few years, so let’s step through the Archway and make the most out of seeing the past, present and the future of one of the world's best transport networks.
