I am thrilled to apply for the role of Transplant Surgery Chair (TSC), a position that aligns with my passion for transplant surgery (TS) and my commitment to education. During sixth form, I founded and directed my school's science club. Working with staff to organise safe and engaging lessons for groups of children honed my ability to manage educational initiatives. My motivation for applying for this position is in part to refine and strengthen my skill set in this area, whilst setting a high standard for the society.

In this role, I aim to create a comprehensive teaching series featuring insights from transplant specialists. In this series I would endeavour to provide valuable knowledge extending beyond surgery, educating others on critical elements such as donor suitability, rejection management, and emergency conditions necessitating urgent transplantation. I recognise the importance of a multifaceted approach to TS from my firsthand experiences at the Royal Free Hospital. I’m eager to offer a holistic overview of TS, including ethical considerations, such as organ donation, as well as offer guidance on how to become a transplant surgeon in different fields.

The role of TSC presents an excellent opportunity to share my passion for surgery, foster a deeper understanding of its complexities, and inspire the next generation of medical professionals. I am confident that my experiences coupled with my commitment to education make me a strong candidate for this position.
