My name is Katya Medved and am in my second year of studying Politics, Sociology and East European Studies at SSEES, so I have an insider on East European memorabilia, if needed! It would be incredibly interesting to see the societies work up close and to further expand my knowledge in the areas of event planning, communication, marketing and to further curate positive and memorable experiences for society members.

Joining the society and obtaining this role will allow me to experience more Russian events, understanding my culture deeper, exploring and diversifying my knowledge on Russian social culture. I am enthusiastically eager to plan events, in which I have experience of doing so. I organised the end of year Prom for both Secondary School and Sixth Form, social events at my pub job, as well as helping to organise events and end of year performances at Azbuka Russian School which all received outstanding reviews and feedback. I love curating spaces in which people feel safe, comfortable, confident and inspired. Approaching conversations confidently and altruistically, I find it easy to get along with a wide range of people, even if interests are differing or there is a language barrier.
