Oi, pessoal!

As a Brazilian student at UCL, I understand the importance of having a close-knit community of Portuguese speakers, and I am thrilled to further contribute to the vibrant atmosphere of the Portuguese Speaking Society as your Events Manager.

Having served as your intern Events Manager since the beginning of the year, I've had the privilege of working alongside Mar, our other intern Events Manager, to organise a series of successful events during the first half of term 1. These events, including the Café Rio meeting, Welcome Fair, European Socs Mingleset, Snack at Café de Nata, and Dinner at Preto Restaurant, were not only enjoyable but also brought our community closer together.

Additionally, I maintain robust connections with the committees of the Brazilian Societies at KCL and LSE, collaborating closely on various projects, such as a Funk dance workshop, a Brazilian night at a bar, a carnival in term 2, and many other initiatives that are currently in the planning stages.

My experience in this role has given me valuable insights into the dynamics of our community and a deeper understanding of the types of events that resonate with our members. I am enthusiastic about continuing to craft memorable experiences that celebrate our cultures, cultivate connections, and foster a sense of belonging for every member.
