Hi! I’m Madi, a final-year PPE student :) As Vice-President, I will strive to support the society in representing the diversity of philosophical inquiry, so whether you’re drawn to bioethics, social epistemology, meta-meta-(meta?)physics, or anything in between, I will work to ensure your interests are reflected in the events and discussions taking place within PhilSoc.

If elected, my first goal will be to implement a termly feedback form where members will have the opportunity to suggest topics they want to see explored at society events, passing the results on to the rest of the committee members, and supporting them in implementing your proposals. What’s more, I will work to extend study groups and help sessions for courses beyond logic, and set up seminars with PhD students on essay writing to help minimize the stress that accompanies coursework.

In overseeing the Bentham Digest, I want these ideals of community and collaboration to carry through to the publication. This means offering writing parties where you can come and talk through your submission ideas with other committee and society members, and setting up a peer-editing platform where you will be matched up with another member and have your piece read over before submitting.

Being a part of PhilSoc has shown me what a great community UCL Philosophy is, and I am thrilled at the prospect of being able to give back to the society and help run all of its amazing socials, talks, and creative platforms! Thanks!
