Lifestyle medicine is not only concerned with prioritising health in the present but also considers the future. Making healthy choices to look after ourselves is not always the easiest option.

I am motivated to be President of the UCL Lifestyle Medicine Society to have the opportunity to lead the committee and to work with our members to distil the often-complex misinformation surrounding Lifestyle Medicine in an open and welcoming environment.

Following my experiences in competitive swimming, I became passionate about Lifestyle Medicine. Through competing, I discovered the power of diet, sleep, and mental health on my performance. Learning how to fuel my body correctly and training to be mentally tough led me to become interested in Human Biology, ultimately directing me towards the course I study today, Biomedical Sciences.

As Interim President, I have led weekly wellness walks, which have provided new opportunities for our members to socialise while taking time in nature. I also look to continue more casual meetups and discussions following the success of our journaling / goal-setting event and our book club event. By prioritising social connection, I aim to create a stronger sense of community in the society. Given the opportunity I would be excited to continue this work for the remainder of the academic year.
