What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?

If elected, I will organise:

• A Lawyers Panel (invite lawyers from different areas of law to share insight into their field, experiences, daily responsibilities, and advice)
• Networking workshops and speaker events (equip you with the necessary skills to fully benefit from networking events)
• Career development workshops (application, CV, interview, LinkedIn) 
• Speaker events on LGBTQ+, ethnic & gender minorities in Law
• Informal coffee-chats with lawyers
• Educational events (intro to commercial, criminal, IP, etc) 
• Moot Court
• Social events

What will you bring to this role(eg. experience, skills, qualities)?

From my role as Social Director & Professional Development Executive in other organisations, I have:

• Skills in event planning and execution
• Creativity in event ideation
• Sent monthly surveys to members to voice their needs/ suggestions
• Actualised members’ suggestions
• Effective communication with external speakers
• Organised a departmental gala with 200+ guests
• Executed various workshops, career navigation events, and socials
• Fostered a sense of community and connection

Anything else?

As a non-law student from Canada interested in law, I had the experience of being without any opportunities to get involved in law. So as the current interim Events Officer, your vote will allow me to continue to tailor events to your needs and maximise your opportunity to gain resources, knowledge and connections.
