As an international student sometimes it feels daunting to be so far away from home. I find comfort in knowing there are plenty of others like me in the UCL Indonesian Society. I had plenty of fun meeting new people, attending events, and experiencing the close-knit community in my first year. This year, I would like to contribute to this society and also give other students the opportunity to build connections while keeping the amazing Indosoc events in the past alive (pls I want another boat party).

I know how important communications are in keeping operations smooth and efficient. I think this role would suit me due to my extensive teamwork experience both from my course and other projects through the years. Given the opportunity, I will do my best in ensuring effective and streamlined communications both internally between society members and externally to other societies. I will work to keep improving future events and gather feedback from everyone in order to create events that cater to members’ interests.

I look forward to working closely with fellow committee members to provide the support needed for Indonesian students while also furthering my own organizational skills. But at the end of the day, I hope to enjoy the experience and have lots of fun throughout the year.
