Election post
It will always be admirable to continue and push through regardless of rejection. During COVID, when UNICEF ejected our society, our committee didn't give up. They took it upon themselves to ensure that, regardless of official support, our contributions would continue. I respect and want to help with that.
For years, my experience in Model UN taught me of the issues plaguing millions of innocent children around our world. NGOs like UNICEF and Amnesty International gave me an outlet for this activism. And, my day to day life in South East Asia showed me how truly abhorrent some of the current conditions are for so many innocent youths.
In my past two years, I served as an instructor in my country's armed forces during my time in National Service. During this time, I worked extensively with my finance department for both private and public financial procurements. Having a deep understanding of logistics and bureaucracy behind managing the finances of my unit.
Beyong that our society is expanding, there's been a massive increase in members this year. We hold the unique ability to do so much more. I want to expand our events past just fundraisers but instead to learn more about the issues that we're trying to tackle. Whether that be through workshops or guided tours.
I hope to put these skills and goals to use as the treasurer of this society. I will ensure all our forms are filled in, and personally protest in front of the SU building if they reject our proposals.
