Taylor Durkee

Hey members of the Canadian society! 

My name is Taylor Durkee, and I am nominating myself to be the events officer for this year's Canadian society! 

A little bit about me, I'm from Toronto and I'm a massive foodie! I've spent the past two years travelling so I've been around many of hostel games and events and I think I've got some great ones up my sleeve. 

Being an international student is tough and societies like these foster a little bit of community in this big city! 

I'm excited about this position as I have experience being a social events planner for previous societies I've been a part of, so I've got some really fun things already in the works and also understand the hard work it takes to plan these types of events. 

I want to do some quintessential Canadian nights, like getting our hockey fix but also events that are simply just about hanging out with our new group of friends. Pub Quizzes, Pizza + Pints, Exploring London together and many other surprises. I want it to not only be a place to cure homesickness but also just be a space that allows for us to just simply come together and have fun. 

With this position I will also be totally collaborative, I want to hear from you about what you want our society to do! Totally inclusive and open ideas in any way.

I truly feel I could make our events more exciting, more engaging and a highlight of your week to get you out of the study blues!
