NAZ
Naz is a sexual health and mental heath charity that serves Global Majority and LGBTQ+ populations across London. Our journey began with the explicit aim of raising awareness about HIV and ensuring that Brown, Black and Global Majority populations received the treatment they required.
Description

NAZ is a sexual health charity dedicated to tackling sexual health inequalities in Black, Brown, Global Majority, and LGBTQ+ communities. We are offering a unique research opportunity for students passionate about working with diverse groups and driving positive change.

We are seeking two student volunteers to help us develop a collection of 10 case studies that capture the perspectives of service users and service providers (5 interviews for each). These case studies will provide valuable insights into what is working, what isn’t, and highlight personal stories that can inform and improve our services.

Duties
  • Co-produce the questions and built the instruments to have conversations and build the case studies.
  • Interviewing Service Users and Providers: Volunteers will have the opportunity to engage directly with our service users and staff to gather qualitative data and firsthand stories.
  • Analyse information: Organize and analyse the information and identify key insights that inform the effectiveness of the services provided and areas for improvement (journey maps or bullet points).
Who will the volunteers be working with?
Avanti Arseculeratne (she/her)
Sexual Health Programmes Manager
Training
Volunteers will receive training to equip them with knowledge about mental and/or sexual health needs of clients. Volunteers will be briefed on HIV, mental health conditions and how to sensitively communicate with service users around these conditions.

Time commitment

There are no restrictions in terms of where or when the task can be completed, but we want to have the case studies ready by December. The volunteer would need to be available on an as needs basis to attend calls for the interviews, which can be scheduled in advance.
Application deadline
