We believe true development happens deep within a person, and that positive interactions with positive people are the key to unlocking potential. Our programmes places emphasis on providing learners with opportunities to build their confidence as well as their skills. Giving presentations, completing creative projects, and supporting others to learn are just a few examples.
As a Digital Inclusion Volunteer you will be working one-on-one with a small group of clients to help them progress through our Digital Skills Programme. You will be encouraging clients to engage with activities, either in the accommodation where they live or through our Learning, training, and Education team. Activities are often someone’s first step towards thinking about their aspirations and going on to access services for employment and learning. As a volunteer supporting clients to develop their digital skills, you will be doing something simple that makes a really big difference.
In this role, you will be supporting with all or some of the following tasks:
- Supporting students to access online sessions and answering any IT-related questions they may have.
- Supporting students to complete course work.
- Encouraging students to take on new challenges to develop their confidence.
- Providing a safe space for students to take risks and change their behaviours.
- Setting up the classroom and joining online sessions.
- Adhering to St Mungo’s Policies and Procedures at all times.
We provide training depending on the role requirements. Most roles will require the completion of a 75’ e-learning course and attending our 2hr Core Training session. We do, of course, offer further training such as role-specific training and development opportunities.
