For the past three years, I have been working as a student ambassador at the University of Manchester. During this period, I actively organized and participated in the uni's open day activities to let more people know about the University of Manchester. I have excellent communication, teamwork, and time management skills, and achieve a good balance between school activities and my own learning. I will extensively collect students' demands to better help them solve their problems and become a bridge between the Bartlett School and UCL.
I would like to achieve the following goals if elected:
* Improve students' learning experiences at the Bartlett School: help solve academic issues, such as teaching and learning experiences, the accessibility of education services;
* More inclusive environment: hold more events about minorities, and well-being issues;
* More career guidance provided for students: arrange more career events associated with the built environment;
* Let the public know more about the Bartlett school: actively engage with people on open days and on social media platforms.
I am an innovator, multi-media producer, and long-termist. I am dedicated to making positive changes for students and the Bartlett school. I will make an excellent Faculty representative as I have great ideas and I am passionate about delivering common inquiries and concerns from students, doing something practical that would help them. I love to communicate with students and the public. I believe communication is a crucial point of this role as the representative is responsible for speaking out on behalf of all students. Thank you for your consideration. Vote for me!
I'd like to present myself as a candidate for the faculty representative post, coming with the experience of being the student representative during my bachelor's for around 640 students where I was involved in the planning and scheduling of co-curricular and extra-curricular events, site visits, conferences and more. This was a task I helped regulate and streamline by continually collecting my peers' feedback on developments and making recommendations for adjustments and improvements to provide immediate redressals.
In my experience, I've learnt that patience, good listening and effective communication are key to this role - which I shall bring. These skills would help me be open to receiving and processing information from the discussions and meetings that I’d be attending. Complimenting my inclination to be a good listener is my attention to detail - with which I aim to be able to save all stakeholders’ time by condensing important information to be delivered.
I’m completely new here as are most of my peers. I’d be mindful of that, and all possible difficulties involved when taking action as a PGT Rep. The aim is to make the experience as rewarding and enjoyable as possible for all of us here at the university- it’s as simple as that - but that’s going to need some work and I’m here for it.
