Description

The School Liaison Lead is responsible for contacting and recruiting schools, to organise blood and organ donation talks for the We Are Donors Ambassadors to give, as well as training these Ambassadors. You will work closely with schools and We Are Donors Ambassadors.

 

**This is a Project Leader position, and you will be working with 4 other Project Leaders. 

Duties

As the School Liaison Lead for UCL We Are Donors, you will be responsible for:

- identifying the contact details of schools (this role may be shared with the Local Group Lead)

  • for example, through:
    • email communication with the schools
    • email communication with UCL to identify if they have an outreach program or if they already have the contact details of the schools in the local region

- organising talks for the We Are Donors Ambassadors to give at the schools recruited

- communicating these opportunities to We Are Donors Ambassadors via email or the WhatsApp group chat

- prompting communication with the Local Lead

- helping the Local Group Lead with any activity related to running the We Are Donors Group

Who will the volunteers be working with?
You will be working with partner organisations to coordinate workshops for young people aged 10-18 years.
Training
Induction and training sessions provided by members of the National Committee, and the Induction & Training Officer will guide volunteers through the resource pack.

Time commitment

Commitment is usually flexible and not regular. You will be responsible for your listed duties, attendance in all Project Leader meetings, and monthly meetings with our partner organisation. Additionally, during events, which occur approximately 2-3 times a year, there may be a slight increase in workload.

This is an opportunity offered by a Student-Led Volunteering Project. It is run by UCL students and supported and supervised by staff in Students' Union UCL Volunteering Service.
