To ensure every visitor to the National Army Museum has an excellent visitor experience and an awareness of our membership scheme.

 

You will be an advocate for the National Army Museum and help promote our work and values to our visitors, answering questions about our membership scheme and encouraging recruitment and engagement.  

Duties
  • Assisting our visitors and communicating with them about the National Army Museum.

 

  • Promoting the Museum’s membership offer and supporting membership recruitment and engagement.

 

  • Attending events run by the public programme and membership team including Chelsea History Festival and Spotlights, supporting membership recruitment and engagement at these events, promoting the work of the Museum and the membership.

 

  • Serving as a first point of contact for members of the Museum and answering any basic questions they may have.

 

  • Contributing to our wider visitor experience outcomes to ensure every visitor leaves the Museum with the curiosity sparked having had an excellent experience with us.
Training
• Full in-house training will be provided, including site induction, Health & Safety, Equality & Diversity, task specific training, training in computer applications as required; and basic introduction to skills relevant to the tasks.

• Expenses: reasonable out of pocket travel expenses to and from Chelsea, and reimbursement for a sandwich lunch.

• Volunteers’ Handbook and regular feedback meetings.

Time commitment

This role will be linked to our programme of events and the Chelsea History Festival, as well as weekends and holiday periods, to maximise visitor engagement during busy periods.

Minimum commitment: At least 3 events/ days per quarter/ 3 months of the year. Please note some events are outside of the Tuesday to Sunday 10am to 5.30pm opening times and run until 9pm.
