Thanks for coming!
Thanks for coming to Find Your Cause! Today you found a cause, thought about where you can make an impact (from individual to collective, and local to global), considered the role that suits you, and chose one action to take. We have pulled together lots of ways to turn that into something real, whether you want a one-off taster or something deeper.

Ways of getting involved
One off
- Big Help outs
- Our Big Help Outs are one-off volunteering events run throughout the year. Turn up for a few hours, meet other students, and make a visible difference with no ongoing commitment. A perfect first step straight after today.
Good for Frontline Responders, Builders and Caregivers. - Volunteering
- Find a role with a local charity that fits around your studies. You can search by the cause you care about, the skills you want to build, your department, or what is near your halls, and the team supports you from your first enquiry onwards. Start with a single session or build an ongoing role.
Good for Caregivers, Weavers and Builders. - Student Hackathons & Events
- Team up in small groups to crack a real organisational challenge. We have run everything from one-day sprints to week-long deep dives, with students bringing expertise as varied as business development, software, climate science and youth engagement. No experience needed, just bring your thinking. Check out student consultancy here.
Good for Experimenters, Builders and Visionaries. - Become a sustainability consultant this reading week
- Want to work with the world’s leading sustainable clothing brand? Passionate about making a difference for people & planet? Join the Circular Economy Challenge.
Something Deeper
- Join a society!
- Joining a club or society is one of the easiest ways to act on your cause with other people, every week. Find a group working on the goal you chose today, for example a climate group for Climate Action (SDG 13), or an enterprise group for Reduced Inequalities (SDG 10). Browse all groups and search by your cause.
Good for Weavers, Storytellers and Disruptors. - Community Acti0n Lab
- A three-day event running 10th-12th November. Check back for more details later.
- Curious about how your research could make a difference?
- Whether its through your course or as a volunteer, the CRIS programme is here to take your research skills from classroom to community.
