Volunteering in the local community.

What's this all about?

Our Community Volunteering Programme supports UCL students to volunteer within the local community.

We vet all of the organisations advertised on our Volunteering Directory to ensure that they are safe for UCL students to volunteer with. We carefully curate our list of volunteering opportunities: our team has approved each role that we advertise and all of our charity partners have signed up to our service standards.

Every opportunity you find through us will provide training and expenses.

Benefits of Volunteering

Volunteering is a great ways to: -

  • Build real-world skills
  • Boost your CV
  • Meet new people
  • Support your wellbeing

Reward and Recognition

You can request a certificate for any volunteering completed with one of our registered community partners or Student-Led Projects.

You could also add your volunteering to your Higher Education Achievement Report (HEAR). HEAR is an internationally recognised, secure digital record of your achievements, both academic and non-degree related, that have been verified by UCL.

If you are a Postgraduate student, you can get Graduate School skills training points for community volunteering - up to 1 point per year.

We hold our annual Community Awards to celebrate our volunteering community. This is our opportunity to thank each and every one of you for the incredible contributions you make throughout the year and give you some well-deserved recognition. Make sure you let us know that you have started volunteering, to ensure that you receive an invite.
