Opportunities

Opportunity: Warehouse Assistant

Noah’s Ark opened its first charity shop in November 2011 on Barnet High Street and we have since opened a further two shops

Opportunity: Home Support Volunteer

Home Support volunteers aim to provide emotional, social and practical support to family members during the child’s life and during the period following the child’s death if appropriate. Becoming a Home Support volunteer is a serious commitment but it provides a rewarding opportunity to directly support children with life-limiting / life threatening conditions and their families.

Opportunity: Retail Assistant

Our charity shops are essential for raising funds which can be used to support Noah’s Ark families. Volunteers are vital in helping to sort donated goods, restock the shop floor and serve customers. We are always interested to hear from volunteers who are able to commit to doing a minimum of 1 shift a week (4 hours) on a regular basis. We would also LOVE to hear from you if you are able to offer more than 1 shift a week. So if you have a few hours to spare each week, enjoy working with the public and love being surrounded by clothes, books and toys then come and support us and help to raise funds for Noah’s Ark!

Opportunity: Activities Support

Noah’s Ark provides regular Family Activities including Family Days, Parent Groups and Sibling Groups; designed to provide fun and free days out, allowing families the opportunity to meet others in similar situations and to take part in new activities in an accessible environment. Becoming an Activities Support volunteer is a serious commitment but it provides a rewarding opportunity to directly support children with life-limiting / life threatening conditions and their families.

Opportunity: Ambassador

The main aim of the Ambassador Programme is to represent and promote Noah’s Ark at various community events in Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey and Islington. Your help would really make a difference in helping us raise awareness and funds. It is hoped that volunteers can commit to supporting in this role for a minimum of 12 months, but this can be flexible.

Opportunity: Charity Podz Partnership Support

Noah’s Ark are in the very early days of a partnership with Charity Podz, the charitable arm of a family business, Toy Podz. They have been incredibly successful with Toy Podz and have recently branched into supporting charities by supplying un-manned concessions that are branded with the charity logo and marketing message. The concessions sell licensed capsuled toys for *1 of which the charity receives 25p. They’re perfect for keeping children entertained!

We have a brilliant opportunity to raise much needed awareness and funds through this partnership.
The purpose of this role is to source and approach local businesses, organisations and venues who would be happy to have a Charity Podz concession.

Opportunity: Community Events Ambassador

The main aim of the Ambassador Programme is to represent Noah’s Ark at various community events in Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey and Islington. It is not always possible for us to attend all events and therefore your help would really make a difference in helping us raise awareness and funds. It is hoped that volunteers can commit to supporting in this role for a minimum of 12 months, but this can be flexible.

Opportunity: Family Activities Volunteer

Noah*s Ark provides regular Family Activities including Family Days, Parent Groups, Siblings* Groups and Noah*s Ark (referred) Children*s Groups. These activities are designed to provide fun and free days out, allowing children and families the opportunity to meet others in similar situations and to take part in new activities in accessible environments.

Becoming a Family Activities Volunteer is a serious commitment, which provides a rewarding opportunity to directly support children with life-limiting or life threatening conditions and their families.

We are currently looking to recruit Family Activities Volunteers who are available to volunteer at events held on weekdays during school holidays.

Opportunity: Fundraising & Event Assistant

The success of any fundraising event relies on the support of our volunteers. We have fundraising events throughout the year, including stalls at summer and Christmas fairs, supermarket bag packs and collections. Events are usually at weekends but preparation takes place during the week. All our events raise vital funds to support our work.

This role is very flexible, as volunteers are not required to make any regular commitment and no further training is needed after the volunteer induction. However, if you are able to volunteer regularly, there are lots of events to get involved in and your role will be very varied, with opportunities to support the Event Organiser either in the office or at the venue.
