Opportunity: Volunteer

Opportunity description:

Are you irritated by the excessive amount of litter laying around the streets of London? Do you want to do something to help whilst raising awareness on littering?

Then this project is for you! As a Green Walker volunteer, you will be joining us to our monthly litter-picking walks. As a team, we will work together to pick up litter around UCL an afternoon every month. You will be briefed before the walks and will be provided with all necessary equipment - so don't worry if you haven't done it before! You will be working with a group of UCL students from all ages. This will be an opportunity to contribute to reduce the high levels of waste in the big city of London in a new, fun way. The walks will also give you the chance to get to know other volunteers that are interested in environmental issues! Refreshments will be provided during breaks and socials will be organised after each walk.

Location:
Around UCL and London.
Commitment:
Flexible
Commitment - more information:
We organise our litter-picking walks on a monthly basis. You can come once or more regularly! We'd love to see you at most of our events. Our first litter-picking walk was on Saturday 12th of October at 2pm around Warren Street. We aim to organise our next walk in mid-November. We try to schedule our walks on the week-end and in the afternoon so that as many people as possible can come!
