Over the last few months the Investors in People auditors have been interviewing, surveying and well…auditing Students’ Union UCL. Our whole staff team have had the opportunity to take part and give their feedback on what it’s like to work here. The way we do things here has been under the microscope and the results are in. We're accredited!

As we celebrate our 125th birthday this month, everyone at Students' Union UCL is extra-proud of this brilliant achievement.

Investors in People is an internationally recognised accreditation, held by 10,000 organisations across the world. Being accredited is a sign of our commitment to being a great place to work.

Here are some of the things they had to say:

High points to note: 91.3% of our staff team believe their work empowers and involves people and 93.5% of our staff team believe the Union has a positive impact on society.

This is a fantastic achievement, particularly as this is the first time the organisation has come forward for assessment. Students Union UCL has achieved three indicators at Established and six indicators at Developed

And this is what our Chief Exec, Ian, thinks about it all...

“When I first started in April 2015, I made a commitment to the Union being a great place to work, I believe that achieving IIP demonstrates that we have achieved what we set out to do. This news enables the Union and its staff to speak proudly about what it is like to work at our Union.”

But what does it mean for you? Well, we really believe that if we have a motivated and committed staff team, we can support you in the ways you need. From advisors, café staff, volunteering coordinators, to the people behind the scenes in our finance or HR departments, a well-run union means a better university life for you. We’re always developing and growing, and this recognition is the start of our journey to being the best part of the student experience.
