- Continue to advocate for climate policies at institutional levels. Lessening the impact that universities have on the climate is vital to both planetary health and student concern.
- Advocate for international students. International students are a huge part of UCL's community and the UK's student population; our issues are important and should be discussed.
- Work with students at other universities to enrich student life and university experience at the national level. Connecting with other students and bringing forward resolutions as a unified body impacts university policy all over the UK.
- Prior experience as an NUS representative - I was part of the effort that pushed the NUS to endorse food sustainability at an institutional level last year. As someone who already knows how the conference runs, I can utilize our time there effectively to see that these changes are actually being implemented while advocating for other changes that we need to see.
- Experience campaigning for climate and nature issues - effective communication, fostering an environment of care and consideration, and pushing positive change are all important practices that I bring with me in my advocacy.
As a returning representative, I plan on addressing the climate and the cost-of-living crises that are affecting student wellbeing. We've successfully passed a motion on endorsing more sustainable food choices at the prior NUS conference, and I plan on directing NUS resources and attention to other important issues related to sustainability. Having perspectives and voices that have been marginalized is a pressing concern to me, and my prior experience as an NUS representative has equipped me with the skills to push for meaningful changes from a plethora of perspectives.
As someone who has no strong political views, I hope to go to the conference with an open mind and campaign for the best decisions for students.
These include: advocating for a better student discount on public transport, and finding a balance between having sustainable policies and making day to day life more affordable.
As the orienteering club's women's officer, I already ensure the voices of women (who are a minority in this sport) are heard.
I am also studying an interdisciplinary scientific degree so am able to add a different perspective to the issues discussed at the conference.
Having had a part time job for the past year, I am able to balance my studies with other commitments, and can truly relate to being a student in London during the cost of living crisis.
I am passionate about protecting our planet, demonstrated by my experience as a conservation volunteer in my local community.
I would love the opportunity to represent students, no matter your background. I will advocate for down to earth yet impactful policies which will actually make a difference to student life.
As my 2nd time as NUS Delegate I want to further push for 3 major issues during conference:
Climate Action
A fair and sustainable transition towards carbon neutral universities.
Demilitarisation
Push to end university ties to arms trade, and promote ethical research .
Cost of Living
Universities to acknowledge student's living struggles, and to offer support according to needs.
Experience
Being a delegate last year means that I know how the NUS conference is structured. Knowing how it runs allows me to make a greater impact by efficiently discussing during policy making sessions.
Intersectionality
I constantly seek to improve my communities, which I have done through being a member of society committees, advisory groups, and more. I am a great team working individual which eases change through collaboratively working with people with different perspectives, and working with issues that need to be tackled together.
I am someone who has shown to invest their time in tackling issues that affect the greater community.
My active participation on different types of focus groups is the reflection on my determination to create change in my community, and wider into society.
We all care about the ongoing injustices currently happening to those affected by the 3 major issues discussed during the conference.
Lets bring change together.
Vote Val
At conference I have 3 major goals. To elevate our voices on issues such as:
- Climate Action
- Free Palestine
- Cost of Living
I represented UCL as an NUS delegate last year and witnessed the biases and inefficiencies of the conference. This year, I have built a personal relationship with the NUS President and the Vice President for Higher Education and I support the vision for an NUS that effectively campaigns on behalf of students, not just to our universities, but to our political structures.
We are a big university. Let's make big changes.
With years of experience in campaigning for climate action and social justice issues AND a track record of presenting and passing policy motions at UCL’s Union Executive and Welfare and Community Zone meetings, I am well placed to represent the voices of UCL students on a national stage.
If you want to be represented by someone who’s passionate, has years of experience and the tenacity to voice and elevate your concerns at the NUS - your search is over! Vote for Alfie :)
I'm in my 5th year at UCL. Vote for someone who’s been where you are, understands your position and has a track record of creating change.

- fighting period poverty & promote sustainability in doing so by helping students access reusable period products;
- better prevention of sexual violences and of any form of discrimination through mandatory in-person training sessions for all students and most importantly for societies & clubs committee members;
- better training and prevention regarding eating disorders. It is during uni that people are most likely to developing eating disorders. Policies need to evolve accordingly.
Having worked as the Women's Network's Campaigns Rep since 2023, I always consider the impact of my decisions on under-represented communities both by engaging with other people and through thorough academic research.
In addition, my commitment to university life can be seen in my activities: as the Orienteering Club and Veg Soc's Welfare Officer, I am aware of the diversity of voices, opinions & experiences of UCL students, and the need for NUS decisions to reflect those voices.
Lastly, my formal work experience in universities has brought me a better understanding of uni's functionings.
I am committed to representing all students' interests and in doing so, to put a particular emphasis on mental health, the cost of living crisis, & inclusion. I am open-minded and keen on exchanging ideas, and will work accordingly in order to ensure that the causes I focus on reflect the needs of UCL students.
If I am elected, I will advocate for supporting students through the cost of university (affordable accommodation, better help services for tenants, in particular internationals), for better mental health support in the context of the loneliness epidemic, and for better representation.
I will campaign in favor of climate justice and student welfare.
As your NUS delegate, I will work to invest in a greener campus, both through sustainability initiatives like removing single-use materials and through investing in training students for careers in sustainability.
I will also call on UCL to provide affordable, sustainable, and ethical food so we can have conscientious consumption without financial sacrifices.
Above all, I want UCL to be a model for climate justice for universities globally.
I have amplified the voice of grassroots social movements for years. I demonstrated and marched for women´s rights and animal welfare in Mexico and Uruguay.
I have led international campaigns, writing and delivering educational material for “Youth for a Green New Deal” across Latin America and teaching the UN Sustainable Development Goals in high schools in Southern Italy.
I have used my voice for climate justice, women, and animals every chance I have been given. Now, I want to use my voice to speak up for UCL students!
As an international master's student, I am committed to representing our diverse student body.
As a lifelong activist, I will never stop fighting for justice.
As your NUS delegate, I will listen to you, and work with the university to bring our student issues to national attention.
By voting for me, you can have the certainty that I will listen and advocate relentlessly for the issues that matter to YOU!

As a left-wing moderate, my primary objective is to rebuild the influence of the NUS in Parliament and ensure that our student interests are well heard and valued. Internally, this relates to the utilisation of media and the co-ordination of funding. From an external perspective, it is essential to demonstrate transparency and inclusivity in our dealings with the public and the government. Also, I will collaborate with other departmental representatives to listen to a diverse range of views and, hopefully, establish a intranet platform to address housing challenges and employment pressures.
I attended the LSE International Relations Summer School with international political scientist Dr. James Morrison. I grasp how the international situation raises social issues concerning university students. Also participated in the LSE Spark Seminars and awarded Gold Badge for Professional Skills (Leadership, Writing, etc.)
Also, as a UCL Transition Mentor. I am passionate about the people-oriented view of engineering development .Have a deeper understanding of std's needs. And assess the feasibility of the proposal based on the potential for humanistic and multifaceted ethical interventions.
As an EE Engineering student, I am well-positioned to understand the needs of students and to express their wishes while striving to maintain an inclusive approach. In particular, I believe it is crucial to strike a balance between the rights of vulnerable groups and broader groups across proposals. Furthermore, I am closely monitoring the latest advances in AI learning and digitalisation, will ensure that these developments are balanced with an emphasis on protecting the privacy of individual students.
If elected, I aim to strengthen student support systems, focusing on affordable housing, mental health resources, and promoting diversity and inclusion. I bring a proven ability to manage complex challenges and to represent student interests on a large scale, making me well-prepared to ensure UCL’s voice is heard and influential in the NUS.
My fellow students should vote for me because I have the experience, dedication, and skills to represent UCL effectively at the NUS. With a strong track record of effective student leadership and a wealth of life experiences, I am uniquely equipped to advocate for UCL’s interests within the national student movement. I will work tirelessly to ensure that key issues like housing, mental health, and inclusion are addressed, and that UCL students play a vital role in shaping policies that impact us all across the UK.
Affiliation Fee = £30k/year but NUS remains so distant from our wellbeing. NUS must make clear how our money is spent.
NUS must clarify if they are “led by students and students’ unions”.
Enough Racism
"NUS is ... is not a safe space for Muslims” – Federation of Student Islamic Societies
Have attended Conferences for the Labour Party as a delegate and observed AGMs and conferences for CND (whose council I'm a member of) and Stop the War Coalition. I know how to navigate NUS conference and can therefore best serve UCL students’ interests
Purposeful speaker Since the age of 6, I've been speaking to politicians (like Michael Gove) and organising/speaking at panel discussions, open meetings and rallies. Public speaking is my bread, and I know how to represents UCL students.
I know when to keep things brief and present text in a skim-able format, like this piece here!
Sending me to conference means sending clear messages to NUS:
- NUS must establish clear communications with their student membership and be an active asset to our wellbeing.
- NUS must be transparent on the services they provide and how our affiliation fee is spent.
- NUS must prove that they value our democratic voice and commit to never repeating the improper procedure used against Dellali.
- NUS must stop ignoring the hierarchy of racism that reports have warned of and become a welcoming space for all minorities.
Vote Junayd for justice and accountability in NUS.
I plan on representing the UCL Students' Union, as well as it's interests on the national level to the NUS. I plan on listening to and understanding the policies of the Union as well as problems the Union, as well as it's members, face regularly and try and suggest policies that can help the Union in the long run.
As an avid MUNner and debater, I have had my fair share of experience in going to and attending formal events. My Model UN experience, has helped me develop and grasp a keen sense for policy making as well as diplomacy. My experience debating has taught me how to frame my arguments in a coherent and cohesive manner, something that is of utmost importance at such a level. I aim to use the skills I have gained, as well as my desire to serve the best needs of the Union, to contribute to his role.
I am a humble and patient person who tries to listen to every voice in the crowd. Students should vote for me as I am here solely to listen to their needs and display them to the National Students' Union so they can be met. Rest assured that if I am nominated, your needs will be put at the forefront of my agenda.
As an NUS Delegate, I aim to be ambitious, to elevate UCL students' concerns to the national stage by bringing their strategies to the National Student Union Conference. I will address key issues such as the rising cost of living, sourcing graduate jobs, and increasing tuition fees for both oversea and home students. By collaborating with representatives from other universities, collectively, we will develop solutions and present proposals to the UK government, driving policy changes to improve student experience at UCL while creating a supportive, equitable environment for students across UK.
As a Gen Z, I deeply share the anxieties and uncertainties many students feel in this era of massive global connectivity and overloads of information. As a former student trustee at UCL student’s union, I gained valuable insights into both the operational and strategic aspects of the union. I have participated in discussions on infrastructural and commercial projects, collaborating with other trustees and sabbatical officers. This experience allows me to bridge the gap between students' needs and the broader goals of the union, ensuring that both are aligned and effectively represented.
I look forward to working with the Union team at UCL to understand their priorities and key policies. For this, I would attend and/or read the minutes of the Union Executive and Policy Zone meetings to stay abreast with the Union’s priorities for students ahead of the conference, as per the role specification.
If successful, I’d like to be able to present my findings back to the SU through a presentation, report or in a meeting – for the benefit of the wider student body. I’d hope to review what improvements the SU could make in light of what I'd have learned from the conference.
- I bring a wealth of knowledge to this role through my currently working at a university and academically, through my UCL MA in Higher Education Studies.
- I am a huge advocate for student voice and have held several roles in student-facing positions, aimed a fostering a sense of belonging to the institution and ensuring students get the most out of their time.
- I regularly digest university sector insights and policy news which demonstrates my dedication to the work of Students’ Unions.
- I am resourceful, solutions-oriented and value cogitation. As a strong team-player, I am reliable and supportive.
- I have the knowledge, enthusiasm and availability to attend the NUS Conference 2025.
- I am a supporter of community organising and believe student movements demonstrate the power of a collective voice.
- I represent many of the characteristics of some of the minority students at UCL: mature, part-time, an ethnic minority and from a low socio-economic background, amongst others. Representation is important and as a delegate of UCL, I would strive to ensure all students feel seen and heard.
- I have demonstrable leadership skills & experience.
- I am willing to answer your questions and share my learnings.
As former Student President and Student Council Member, I can bridge the gap between UCL students and the National Union. Our students should feel their needs, concerns and values are heard. I can ensure that our diverse perspectives are amplified nationally.
I strongly recognise the rising concerns for:
- Cost of living
- Student support
- Better Quality Facilities and Housing
- Humanitarian aid for students fleeing conflict
- Climate Action
- Financial Aid
I’m confident I can voice concerns specific to UCL students, to ensure we can drive forward policies that support our academic and personal well-being.
As a Wildhearts’ Global Youth Ambassador, I’ve led initiatives focused on diversity and inclusion, climate action, and delivering student support to 1000+ students during COVID lockdowns.
I independently collaborated with charity managers to launch a Financial Education Scheme, raising awareness for financial literacy.
Created the Student Enrichment Initiative, independently delivering 200+ opportunities over 14 months, to help disadvantaged students.
This showcases that I can lead, advocate effectively, drive positive change, and contribute meaningfully as a NUS delegate for UCL students.
As a first generation university student, child of refugees, and part of a BAME group underrepresented in higher education, I bring a diverse perspective and open-mindedness to represent students from all walks of life.
Coming from a low socio-economic background, I understand the struggles and changes that UCL students want heard. I'm confident I can advocate for key issues such as affordability in education, mental health support, and access to resources for students from all backgrounds.
Vote Dilmeet Kapoor, to represent UCL students’ priorities, and implement changes to support YOU :)
If I’m chosen as an NUS delegate, my main goal is to ensure that student voices are genuinely listened to and lead to meaningful changes. There are a few specific things I hope to accomplish:
- Amplifying Student Voices: I aim to create an open environment where students feel comfortable sharing their thoughts and concerns, whether they relate to academic quality, mental health, or inclusivity. I want to bridge the gap between students and decision-makers, ensuring that every opinion is valued and considered.
- Enhancing Student Wellbeing: I'm particularly passionate about improving mental health resources. My goal is to advocate for better, more accessible mental health support across campus. With rising concerns about mental health, it’s vital we have services that truly meet students’ needs. Additionally, I want to work on making our academic environment more inclusive, ensuring every student feels supported and treated equitably.
- Encouraging Student Involvement: Beyond representing students, I also want to empower more people to participate in the decision-making process. I hope to create more opportunities for students to get involved in advocating for their rights and shaping policies that affect their lives.
In short, I want to help build a university community where student concerns lead to real improvements, fostering a more supportive and inclusive environment for all.
In this role, I will bring a wealth of experience, leadership skills, and a strong commitment to student advocacy. During my time in college, I served as a class representative, women’s representative, and Public Relations Officer, which equipped me with a deep understanding of student needs and how to address them effectively.
One of my proudest achievements was creating a platform where students could anonymously voice their concerns and suggestions. This initiative brought together over 200 students and helped foster open communication within the student body. It also demonstrated my ability to take proactive steps in improving student life.
Additionally, I was honored to receive the Best Volunteer in Women Development Cell and the Best Student Award among 2,000 students. These recognitions reflect my dedication to promoting student wellbeing and leadership within my community.
With these experiences and accomplishments, I am confident that I have the skills, passion, and commitment needed to excel as an NUS delegate and work towards positive change for all students.
- I’ve Got Experience – I’ve been a class representative, women’s representative, and Public Relations Officer, so I know what it takes to speak up for students and actually get things done. No empty promises here!
- Champion of Change – Remember that program where 200 students got to anonymously share their thoughts? Yep, that was me! I don’t just listen to concerns; I make sure your voices lead to action.
- Award-Winning Dedication – Best Student Award? Check. Best Women Development Cell Award? Double-check. These aren’t just trophies, they’re proof that I’m committed to making student life better for all of us.
- Your Concerns, Front and Center – I’m here for you. Whether it’s mental health, academic issues, or just making student life a bit more fun, I’ll ensure your concerns get the attention they deserve.
- The Fun Delegate – Who says serious change can’t come with a bit of fun? I’ll bring energy, creativity, and a sense of humor to the role—because we all know student life could use a little more of that.
Vote for me, and let’s make student voices louder, campus life better, and change a little more exciting!
I am committed to representing the diverse and vibrant student body of UCL with pride. I would bring three key issues to the forefront at the NUS conference:
Rent control 🏠 : I will advocate for stronger national rent controls to protect students from exploitative practices and ensure affordable, safe accommodation for all.
Support for international students 🌍: We must ensure international students have the financial and legal resources they need to thrive in the UK
Solidarity with Palestine 🇵🇸: I believe that students have a crucial role to play in advocating for peace and justice.
I am excited to bring advocacy experience and a passion for making student voices heard!
🌍 At the One Young World Summit, I represented sustainable cooking charities, turning ideas into action and building meaningful partnerships.
🏆 As a winner of the UNODC International Essay Contest on anti-corruption I will attend the the United Nations in Vienna in November. I am eager to learn from global experts on building a safer world and I will bring those skills - research, persuasion and coalition-building - to ensure UCL students’ priorities are powerfully represented at the NUS Conference.
👩🎓 Proven Advocacy: I have consistently championed issues that matter. I will bring the same drive and commitment to representing UCL at the NUS Conference.
🌟 Ambassadorship & Relationship Building: I know how to bridge the gap between policy and people. I will use these skills to ensure UCL students are not just heard but influential on the national stage. I am confident in my ability to be both a passionate advocate and a collaborative team player, ensuring our voices shape the future of student policy in the UK.
If elected, I will ensure that UCL students’ voices are effectively represented at the national level by advocating for policies that are in favour of our students. Meanwhile, I also aim to push for reforms in student mental health support, advocating for a fund across UK universities to support students under the threat of increasing mental pressure from studies and various reasons. Additionally, I will promote policies that safeguard educational and career opportunities for UCL students, such as advocating for teaching fairs and open classes to attract top talent to our university.
I'll bring approachable and effective leadership and active communication from my time as VP of my high school's Student Union and leader of several clubs. My degree in politics and sociology and negotiation skills attained from my MUN experiences equip me with teamwork, problem-solving, and organisational skills to address UCL students' needs effectively and be aware to stand firmly to advocate for their interests. With my experiences of internships in education and starting up a study abroad company, I also possess business acumen and skills in organizing resources and teams.
I’m vote-worthy because I am dedicated to representing your interests and addressing the issues in academics and daily lives that matter most to you. My leadership roles, negotiation skills, and understanding of national student issues equip me to advocate for UCL students effectively. I am committed to ensuring their needs are heard on the national stage, from mental health reforms to career opportunities. With a clear vision for how UCL can lead within the NUS, I am ready to be their voice and drive meaningful change.
Among many concerns that affect us students, these are two I would like to highlight:
- Be a voice for students, ensuring our ambition is matched by the resources we need to thrive. The wellbeing system at UCL is confusing and overwhelming—I'll push for clearer, more accessible support for issues like loneliness, academic pressure & therapy.
- Push for equal access to careers support across all departments. It’s shocking that some degrees have entire teams dedicated to careers, while others only have one person for the whole department. Every student deserves the same opportunities and connections.
- As part of the SU Welcome Crew and a transition mentor, I’ve listened to a wide range of student issues and worked to help them feel at home at UCL.
- I study Information Management, so I’m equipped to critically analyse complex issues and propose evidence-based solutions backed by data.
- I have a passion for supporting students through both academic challenges and personal growth, ensuring we all have the tools we need to succeed.
- I’m committed to listening to your concerns and will fight for the changes you want to see.
- Feel free to criticise my ideas, I won’t bite! I’m all about improvement through feedback.
- I don’t give up easily—years of job applications have made me an expert in persistence. Trust me, I’ll keep pushing until we get the changes we deserve!
- (As a side quest, I would love to connect with my friend Camille's ancestors who are from Blackpool)
Every leader must be accountable and responsible for the decision they take. If elected I will ensure that the promises made by the NUS Officers are implemented. I aim to keep the NUS and its policies at the highest degree to represent every student of our union. I have personally gone through experiences where I felt led down and my voices were not heard. I will ensure no other student has to go through a similar experience where they are not heard. I believe in empathy as a way of leadership and I will ensure more progressive policies are made especially for women and LGBTQ+ community.
I have represented my undergraduate university ‘University of Nottingham’ at NUS in 2022 and 2023. Hence, I have a good knowledge on the workings of the NUS and the skills needed to represent the voices of students. I love to engage and network with people, which I believe are crucial when it comes to lobbying for the causes which the union believes in. I aim to take forward the values of UCL’s students union and incorporate them at the conference. In addition, my role as the founder of a major non-profit (40seconds.org) has given me the communication and negotiating skills needed.
I'm a student just like all of you and I understand the countless problems we face. From expensive tuition fee to lack of affordable housing we go through them all. To solve these problems we really need a drastic change in the way we do things and in the way the higher ups make decisions. We need to persuade and take what are rights are and a way this a can be done is through the NUS. If you vote for me, I will ensure it is done, I will ensure all your concerns are heard and are actually delt with rather than just left in the endles void of bureaucracy. Thank you very much.
If I am elected, I hope to address key issues that UCL students are faced with, including:
-
Sustainable ways to combat the climate crisis
-
Strategies to address the cost of living crisis
-
Overcoming rising mental health concerns among students by expanding and improving mental health services across universities
Being a second year student, I feel as though I understand the needs and demands of the student body and I aim to utilise my experience and knowledge by endorsing campaigns that put students first while also keeping in mind global issues that concern us all as humans.
My experience as a school prefect in the past as well as a transition mentor currently has allowed me to develop skills in understanding what students want as well as how to work alongside relevant authorities to push for progress. As an NUS delegate, I will bring a fresh perspective to the table and be a spokesperson for other students who may not have had much experience in activism but are still passionate about making a change. Combined, these skills will aid me in effectively advocating for what matters most if I am elected as an NUS delegate.
As an NUS delegate, I strive to be a spokesperson for the student body, prioritising your needs at all times while also keeping in mind the bigger picture.
My experience as a student so far gives me an understanding of what matters most to you and my passion for advocacy means that I will be able to provide a fair and balanced perspective as a delegate.
Overall, I have a strong drive to fight for improvement in human rights and climate change policies whilst also nourishing a university environment that is vibrant and inclusive for all.
Together, we can create real change - vote for me!
Climate Action
University students should have access to as many resources as possible to participate in sustainability related activities and advocacy. The NUS should also lobby for more universities to implement the motions already passed at a national level.
Cost of Living
Universities should provide students with accommodation at a reasonable price. Student concerns regarding the quality and price of their accommodation should be heard.
War
The NUS should lobby for universities to stop funding war efforts.
As a returning delegate I know how the NUS conference functions. I will be able to advocate for what YOU want as I know how to work with the system.
I have also been involved in many climate crisis related projects or movements such as the Fridays for Future movement or climate knowledge training programs with working professionals. I know how to talk with different people of different backgrounds and NEGOTIATE to obtain what YOU want.
I will make sure your thoughts and concerns are heard as I will use my position at the NUS to make the impact you want to have.
I will be your spokesperson, fighting to represent your values about human rights and climate crisis concerns.
I can help you make change happen at a national level.
Vote for Ines!
As an NUS delegate, I aim to ensure that the diverse voices of UCL students are not only heard but actively shape national student policy. I want to bring forward pressing concerns like mental health support, international student issues, and accessibility to higher education. By collaborating with fellow delegates, I hope to push for policy changes that reflect the priorities of UCL students and ensure our needs are addressed on a national scale.
My background in neuroscience and involvement in research has developed my analytical and communication skills, which will be invaluable when discussing policies and representing UCL’s interests. I have experience managing student groups, such as the STEM club I founded, and have taken leadership roles in both volunteering and research. I bring a strong work ethic, dedication to social issues, and the ability to listen and advocate for a diverse range of perspectives.
Students should vote for me because I will be a dedicated and passionate advocate for their concerns. My experience in leadership roles and my commitment to social issues, both on a local and international level, demonstrate my ability to represent our community effectively. I will ensure that UCL’s voice is influential at the national conference and work tirelessly to promote policies that enhance the student experience for all.
