Join Jitsu for This Girl Can Week!

What to expect at This Girl Can: Jitsu!

Come along to a beginner's session of the self-defence martial art: Japanese Jiu jitsu! Emma Wilson, one of the top jitsu blackbelts in the UK will be leading this session and you can expect to learn about how use movement and technique to overcome an opponent, rather than strength... Minimum effort, maximum effect.
This form of Jiu-jitsu is a 50/50 mix of self-defence techniques and martial arts, and we hope you'll be able to get a taster for both aspects.

Instructor: Emma Louise Wilson

Location: Multipurpose Room, TeamUCLGym

Accessibility: We aim to make our Jitsu sessions welcoming and inclusive where possible. Please note that there is a lift within the building to get into the room, but please ensure you contact su.projectactive.ucl.ac.uk if you require this support! Due to the physical nature of Japanese Jiu Jitsu, we may not be able to accommodate all access needs. Coaches are happy to adapt activities where possible, and participants are encouraged to work within their own comfort and ability. There is no pressure to take part in any activity that feels unsafe or uncomfortable.

Equipment:  We recommend wearing sports clothing and trainers. Please bring a water bottle with you.

Refund policy: all tickets are non-refundable unless there has been a class cancellation.

If you have any questions about the session or would like to discuss whether the session is suitable for you, please do get in touch with us at [email protected]
