Hi! I’m Eda!
As your Sabbatical Officer for Equity and Inclusion across the Union, I work full-time to create an inclusive and welcoming environment for all students, providing them with equal opportunities to participate in the Union’s activities.
I also work closely with and support the POC Students’, Disabled Students’, LGBQ+, Trans, and Women’s Officers and Networks, advocating for their work and helping these networks become thriving, active, and democratic communities.
I represent your interests at all of the Policy Zones and the Union Executive as a voting Member, which any student can attend. I also sit on several other committees to ensure your interests are represented.
Equity & Inclusion Officer Updates
I write a fortnightly update report on the work I've been doing to represent you, including my progress on my manifesto pledges. My report covers updates on current projects and collaborations with different student groups, academic departments, and community organisations.
My work, as outlined in my report, is scrutinised and voted on by other elected student leaders in our Welfare & Community Zone. You can read more about them here: Policy Zones & Union Executive.

Democratic Voting Record
As democratically elected leaders, we're accountable to you, our students, for the decisions we make. Students submit policy ideas (things they want the Students' Union to do) to our democratic spaces, where we discuss and vote on them.
Below is a record of the voting on policies introduced during the academic year 2025-2026, along with how I have voted.
Please note: Policy comes to Zones first and is later brought to a meeting of the Union Executive for voting. Sabbatical Officers do not participate in all Zones and, therefore, do not vote on every policy.
