"How do I manage sports alongside academics?"
Last year I was asked, by somebody applying to the same Neuroscience PhD programme that I am on, whether they would be able to keep up training for and playing sports once they started the PhD, or whether they would have to give it all up. Happily, I could reassure them that, while it can be difficult to train for a high-level sport alongside academic studies, it is far from impossible.

Eco-Hiking and Beach Cleaning
On a damp, cold morning in early December, 18 hikers assembled and embarked on a long train ride to Hastings. Apart from observing the comings and goings of the seaside town, with amusing stores including the Cod Father (which I can only assume sells fish and chips!), the hikers arrived at Hastings Beach.
UCL students make a BIG difference and here’s how…
Last year, over 2200 UCL students took time out from their studies to volunteer on projects across London. Each and every one of them made a difference to other people - add it all together and it’s clear that our volunteers are making a big impact. Collectively, they put in 62400 hours – that’s the equivalent of one person volunteering full time for over 32 years!

His passing bought home the reality of how important the issue of mental health is, which is why the club is making it their absolute priority to tackle this growing problem and honour his passing in the best way they can.
