Save Our Pool Protest: How it went and next steps
Since we heard that the swimming pool/ student facilities inside Student Central were going to be closed, after its sale to Birkbeck, we’ve been doing everything we can to make sure this vital space doesn’t go.  
UoL and Birkbeck, what are you doing to our space?
More than two months have passed since we learnt that Birkbeck had acquired the lease for the Student Central building with plans to remove the swimming pool and all of the activity space. Birkbeck gets the keys on 23 July and we’re trying everything we can to get them to see sense and save this essential save student space.

Any master’s student will tell you, an MSc degree can be transformative but intense. In my first term, I tried not to succumb to the enormous workload of the course by focusing all my attention on my academic work.

Student Sex Workers
Our service recognises that some students engage in sex work, and that students may choose to work in the sex industry for a wide range of reasons. Research from the Student Sex Work Project (2015) found that around 5% of students had been involved in sex work, while more recent research from Save the Student!
Nomination for BUCS Digital Engagement Award
We are delighted to have been shortlisted for BUCS Digital Engagement Award alongside King’s College London, Loughborough University and University of Nottingham. This award recognises creative digital engagement that has supported students in the form of virtual challenges, digital events and other innovative online activity.
