Where did you hear about the Social Hackathons and what made you apply?

I saw it advertised on the UCL Student Union website. I wanted to volunteer virtually and felt that this was perfect given the easy time-commitment, roles tailored to students, and very easy application / task assignment process.

Was the Hackathon what you expected?

It was what was expected: a good way to get experience in the voluntary sector and help a charity in a short amount of time.

Do you feel as though you’ve learned new skills or developed your existing skills? If so, what are they?

Yes: learnt new ways of organising and writing reports, making my ideas clear in both writing and speaking. Learned more about the voluntary sector and the way things operate.

Do you feel as though you’ve made a difference to the charity? If so, how?

Yes: I feel that I’ve impacted the charity in a small but potentially significant way by giving them ideas on how to branch out and raise awareness to people.

Have you enjoyed the experience?

Yes.

Would you recommend these events to others?

Yes.
