Birkbeck Students’ Union is part of a unique institution, Birkbeck College, University of London, the only University in the UK to specialise in evening teaching.

The 7 students leading the Union
Every Spring, students from all over UCL vote to elect seven students to lead the Union. They make sure your voice is heard at the highest university level, in meetings with the Provost and other senior leaders at UCL. Essentially, they’re here to make your life at UCL better.
New to town? How to think like a Londoner
London is unlike any other city in Britain in its size, and the world in its character. Its residents are famous for certain quirks and (what might loosely be called) charms. Though greatly exaggerated, these stereotypes are not without some truth and the key to living in London without being blinded by the ‘Big Smoke’ is thinking like a city native.
Spotlight; Helshan Weerasinghe
Heshan Weerasinghe - Table TennisI began playing table tennis when I was 6 years old, whilst I was at school in Sri Lanka. A year later, I was in England and rising through the national rankings by playing in competitions. I rose to number 1 in my age category at 11 years old, and made my England debut a year later.

Ruhi Vaitha is a first-year Medical student, and a volunteer for the long-running Student-Led Volunteering Project, UCL Hospital Fun Team. Fun Team is run by students who play with children staying in hospitals, giving them, their parents, and the hospital staff some relief.
