What is a Referendum?A referendum is an all-student vote on either a particular issue based question or a vote of no-confidence in Sabbatical Officers.

All of our spaces are your spaces. Here at the Union, we’re transforming our bars, cafes, fitness and study areas to create the perfect places for you to make friends and relax outside of lectures.

Student leaders are representing you at a variety of UCL Committees including: 
No Confidence Procedures
Elected student officers are voted in by you and can also be voted out by you. If you feel that an elected officer has done something which warrants no longer holding their position you can call for a vote of no confidence.

The 7 students leading the Union
Every Spring, students from all over UCL vote to elect seven students to lead the Union. They make sure your voice is heard at the highest university level, in meetings with the Provost and other senior leaders at UCL. Essentially, they’re here to make your life at UCL better.

Students' Union UCL works to ensure that students are represented across all levels of decision making at UCL. There are more than 2,000 student representatives at UCL including Academic Reps, Student Officers, Sabbatical Officers, Student Trustees, Hall Reps and Activities Reps.

Spotlight; Helshan Weerasinghe
Heshan Weerasinghe - Table TennisI began playing table tennis when I was 6 years old, whilst I was at school in Sri Lanka. A year later, I was in England and rising through the national rankings by playing in competitions. I rose to number 1 in my age category at 11 years old, and made my England debut a year later.

Ruhi Vaitha is a first-year Medical student, and a volunteer for the long-running Student-Led Volunteering Project, UCL Hospital Fun Team. Fun Team is run by students who play with children staying in hospitals, giving them, their parents, and the hospital staff some relief.
