Come give Kendo a try!

From academics to personal life, the start of the school year is both an exciting and stressful time and what better way to relieve your stress than to learn some swordfighting skills! Regardless of whether you're a new student or returning, a beginner at kendo or experienced, there is a spot in the UCL Kendo Club for you! Our taster sessions are a perfect opportunity to try something new, meet new people, and get some sweat out.

What is Kendo

Kendo is a martial art originating from Japan, descended from the traditional swordmanship techniques of the samurai. It involves striking various targets on an armoured opponent with a bamboo sword. It's a dynamic, semi-contact martial art with an emphasis on skill and self-improvement. The focus on technique instead of strength allows people of any age and gender to practice together on an equal footing.

Never heard of kendo? No problem, we're here to explain it.

So come give Kendo a shot during our taster sessions. After all, university is the perfect time to try new things!
