Come along for the UCL Libertarian Society’s first taster session of the year! We’re hosting an informal chat about what’s actually happening in Iran with our guest speaker, Mani Basharzad.

If you’re tired of just nodding along in seminars, this is the place for you. We’re moving past the headlines to chat about state authority and individual rights in a space where you can actually say what you think without the toxic vibes.

The Plan:

  • Quick Intro: Mani will give us a 10-minute rundown of the situation on the ground.
  • Open Floor: The rest of the hour is just an open discussion where everyone is encouraged to join in, challenge ideas, or just listen.
  • Networking: It’s a great way to meet people, especially if you’re looking into careers in finance, policy, or journalism.

Whether you’re a Politics, Econ, or Philosophy student (or just someone who likes a good debate!!) there’s a seat for you.

How to Join: This is a Taster Session, so it's totally free to attend if you grab a Taster Membership on the SU site! If you want to dive all the way in, full membership is just £4.50 for the whole year (cheaper than a campus lunch!).

Capacity is limited to keep the conversation manageable, so make sure to book your spot early!
