- Hosted by International Development Society
Are you interested in or want to know more about international development? Come join us for our first taster session!
When: Wed Oct 14th from 18:30-20:30
Where: Bentham House LG11 Lecture Room
We will have a taster lecture on the topic “The Big Question: What is International Development?” This talk will be delivered by Dr. Kamna Patel, Professor of Critical Development Studies at UCL’s Bartlett Development Planning Unit (DPU). Her research explores the relationships between race and development, housing, land and citizenship in the urban Global South, as well as critical and postcolonial approaches to understanding the theory and practice of “development.”
This session will give you a more detailed overview of our society, followed by a talk (with interactive elements!) delivered by Dr. Patel, and a chance to meet and speak with the committee as well as like-minded peers.
This event is open to all students, regardless of your age, course or year! Whether you are passionate about ID or unfamiliar with the discipline but want to learn more, you are more than welcome to join us!
We hope to see you soon!
