London Varsity Series

This event showcases our sports teams' prowess over local rivals King's College London, as we take them on at a number of sports over the course of a week. The victor is crowned after the final event of the series and a trophy is awarded to the institution that has won the most fixtures. This year, London bled purple as we took home the win against KCL (for the third year in a row!)

Mandy Walker Alumni Weekend

Previously known as the Mandy Walker Games, this event was created in honour of a former UCL hockey player and sports officer. It's our annual Alumni Sports Day where former members of UCL are invited back to London to compete in friendly matches against current TeamUCL clubs. It’s a fantastic opportunity to catch up with old friends and reinforce the community atmosphere our sports clubs create.

Sports Awards

Each year we celebrate TeamUCL clubs and students, recognising all that has been achieved during the year. The evening consists of a formal awards ceremony in Bloomsbury Theatre followed by a sports ball!

TeamUCL Against Hate

TeamUCL Sports Clubs are powerhouses. Last year, including taster memberships, our clubs reached over 11,000 students. That’s 20% percent of all students at UCL. There is so much potential for clubs to offer not just sport, but also community, and that’s why TeamUCL Against Hate was created. It’s our framework to empower clubs to deliver impactful events, initiatives, and programmes to benefit students across UCL.

Black History Month

Black History Month takes place throughout October and provides an opportunity to recognise Black histories, celebrate Black success and increase opportunity. Using sport, TeamUCL aim to break down barriers to sport and physical activity through sports club sessions and the Black History Month Sports Pass.

Disability History Month

Disability History Month takes place across November and December, focusing on the history of disabled people's fight for equality and human rights. TeamUCL supports disabled students at UCL to participate in sport and physical activity, either through our sports clubs, Project Active, or the TeamUCL Gym. We have used Disability History Month to launch year round projects to support the inclusion of disabled students in sport and fitness.

LGBT+ History Month

LGBT+ History Month takes place in February, providing opportunities to celebrate, reflect and promote the history of queerness in the UK. At TeamUCL, we use sport to celebrate our LGBTQ+ members, fundraise for meaningful causes and promote our clubs as a place for students to be their authentic selves.

All Jokes Aside

It's easy to laugh it off when someone asks how you are, or you're experiencing difficulties with your mental health. All Jokes Aside is our campaign to support male students' wellbeing at UCL. We offer free sport and activity to male-identifying students year round, providing community and exercise to support you.

This Girl Can

This Girl Can is a national campaign celebrating women being active no matter how they do it! The campaign believes that there’s no “right” way to get active. However you jiggle, kick, lift, stretch, or sprint, it’s time to get moving how you please. We collaborate with many of our Sports Clubs to offer free taster sessions, and run low-cost classes with external instructors.
