What would you like the Union to do?
Students' Union UCL will commit to supporting any industrial action in the academic year 2021- 22 over negotiations with UCL around UCU's Four Fights. Additionally, Students' Union UCL should continue to push for a resolution to the dispute, and attempt to avoid the need for strike action. This policy supersedes the existing Union policy (UP2102), passed by Union Executive on 11 October 2021.
Why would you like to do this?
In light of the recent referendum held on teaching strikes, Students' Union UCL has a strong mandate to stand in solidarity with staff in their strike action. This was the largest referendum ever held by the Union, only further supporting this mandate.
How will this affect students?
This solidarity will help staff in their fight for fairer working conditions - our learning environments are their working environments.
