About Us

Offering hockey at both a high and beginner level, as well as an inclusive and friendly community off the pitch, we help all our members to expand their university experience and have fun. Whether its an Animal Kingdom themed sports night, our Varsity match at the Olympic stadium or even a simple welfare call, our club thrives because the people within it. You simply won’t find another club like us on campus.

UCL Men’s Hockey Club is renowned throughout the university as one of the largest and most sociable societies at UCL. We have 3 teams, all competing in their respective BUCS leagues. The 1st XI plays in the South Eastern 1st division, with eyes set on securing promotion by the end of the season. We will also be looking to extend our varsity winning streak against rivals King's College London to six years in a row at the Olympic Park in March! The 2nd XI play in the South Eastern 3rd division, and are also ready to push for promotion. The 3rd XI provides both a socially welcoming environment and a good standard of hockey, allowing for beginners to get game time!

Off the field, UCL are just as lively and successful; we have extremely close ties to the Women’s Club, with whom we organise a summer tour every year and run joint socials on a weekly basis. Our Social Calendar is also packed, with events like our Annual Christmas Ball and Varsity, so there’s loads to get involved in. From charity events, to welfare training sessions, there’s also lots of volunteering and welfare opportunities on offer to learn and expand your UCL experience outside of hockey!

Joining our club is a great opportunity to meet a whole new group of friends outside of your course, halls and year group.
